Find the cheapest petrol near you

If you are a motorist in NSW lucky enough to have a choice of petrol stations, the NSW government has the perfect app for you. FuelCheck is a website with live fuel prices so you can always find the cheapest fuel nearby. You can also see how fuel prices have changed in the past week or the past month.

FuelCheck

The idea of FuelCheck is to increase competition by making prices and price changes completely transparent.

Petrol stations already have to display petrol prices clearly and honestly on the forecourt. Thanks to FuelCheck, they are now obliged to display their prices online as soon as they change them on their signs. This means all motorists remain fully informed about what it costs to fill a tank.

You can get FuelCheck on any device connected to the internet. Use it at any time to find:

  • Fuel near me – if you share your location
  • All types and sellers of petrol, as a list or a map
  • How prices have changed in the past 7 days, past month or past year.

Fourth cheapest fuel

Government figures for June 2016 show Australian petrol is the fourth cheapest in the OECD after the US, Mexico and Canada. Norway is the most expensive.

Australia $118.8
 US   $76.4
 UK   $196.1
 Norway  $214.6
