Checklist to get a green slip fast

Steps

Notes

1.

Find your registration renewal notice

It has useful information

2.

Note your rego due date, which vehicle you are registering and the period of registration

It’s now too late to change the rego period

3.

Go to greenslips.com.au Calculator. If you have a calculation number, resume calculation and put that number in

If you did a calculation last year, your answers may still show up

4.

Answer carefully all questions on all 3 pages

If you miss one, it shows up in red

5.

Click calculate to get your Results page with all 6 CTP insurer prices

Prices are for 12 months and 6 months

6.

Choose the cheapest insurer

Get more help to choose

7.

Pay the insurer directly using contact details provided

Insurer will then send an eGreenslip to Service NSW

Once you’ve bought a green slip, you can renew registration of your vehicle at Service NSW

What if I still need a pink slip?

If you still need a pink slip, you must organise a safety check from a local mechanic ASAP. If registration has expired, you have to drive unregistered by the quickest possible route to the mechanic. Then you must renew registration on the spot or as soon as you get home.

What if my rego has already expired?

If your rego has already expired, use the checklist to get a green slip fast. You’re not allowed to drive unregistered unless it’s for the purpose of registration.

What happens if my vehicle is unregistered?

Penalties are heavy if your vehicle is unregistered because that means it is also uninsured. See more about what it could cost you

I don’t want this to happen again – please send me a rego reminder sticker
