NSW has worst record for animal collisions
Animal collisions in Australia are on the rise and will peak in the period between June and August if last year’s insurance claims are anything to go by.
Insurance company AAMI says almost 19,000 claims for accidents with wayward wildlife were reported in 2014 and analysis shows the risk of such crashes increases by 30 per cent in winter months.
Drivers need to take extra care during the early morning and evening, according to AAMI spokesperson, Reuben Aitchison.

The nationwide Fatality-Free Friday campaign 2015 was launched on May 1 in Sydney.

A horror Easter weekend has ended for Australia with the national road toll sitting at 24.
NSW Commander of Specialist Operations, Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn said this indicates people are not paying heed to the dangers of reckless driving, and that is a huge let down.

$42.8 million to fix country roads
Council-owned country roads are to undergo a makeover, with 77 projects on the agenda under the government’s $42.8 million Fixing Country Roads program, according to an announcement from Transport for New South Wales.
The Fixing Country Roads program was announced in 2014 as an initiative which will identify local projects and provide funding to improve connectivity throughout the state, thereby boosting freight productivity.
