Not much time left to get your greenslip refund

There are still 759,000 vehicle owners who have not claimed their share of the $29 million greenslip refund. They have until 30 September 2019 to do so. After that, any money left unclaimed will go towards reducing the Fund Levy.

So far around 3 million people have claimed a refund, worth about $120 on average. According to NSW Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello, this knocked down the average green slip premium to $492, the lowest since 2012.

If you were the registered owner of a private vehicle (excluding motorcycles) before December 2017, you may be eligible for a refund of part of your 2017 CTP green slip.

Five minutes to claim your refund

It does not take long to claim:

  • Set up a MyServiceNSW account using your email address
  • Link your Account to Roads, under the Services tab on your Dashboard using your drivers licence or registration details
  • Apply for the greenslip refund by clicking Claim CTP Refund
  • Provide your banking details.

Allow 10 working days for the funds to arrive in your account.

Note, all greenslips issued in 2019 are at the new, lower prices. This means you cannot claim a refund on these. But you should still use the greenslips.com.au Calculator to find the cheapest greenslip for your vehicle and details.
