Geographical Zones

Five rating regions determine green slip prices

Geographical zone, like vehicle class, is an important factor in setting CTP green slip prices.

NSW is divided into 5 geographic or rating regions for the purpose of setting green slip prices.

You do not have to know your rating region.

State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) allocates these geographical or rating zones.

  • They are used in Premium Determination (setting prices), as per Motor Accident Guidelines.
  • Insurers must set green slip prices on the basis of these rating regions.

Split postcodes

Five postcodes are split between 2 rating regions:

  • You do not need to know your rating region.
  • If you live in a split postcode, it is important to choose the right suburb when using the green slip calculator.
