The only way to be certain that you have found the cheapest green slip is to compare prices for each of the seven green slip insurers.  The Green Slip Calculator is the only service available which allows you to compare prices for each of the seven green slip insurers.

The Green Slip Calculator provides prices on a six and twelve month basis.  The Green Slip Calculator also provides contact details for each of the insurers.

In addition to price, there are other factors you may wish to consider before purchasing your greenslip.  On this site, we identify other factors you should consider.  We also analyse each insurer in terms of accessability for purchase online, by phone or in person.  For example, not all insurers operate online and one insurer will not accept payment by credit card.  We also provide information on everything you need to know to acquire your greenslip.

Once you have decided which insurer you wish to use, you can contact that insurer to purchase you greenslip.  For most purchasers, the insurer will notify the RTA electronically of your greenslip purchase.  Notification is usually received by the RTA within one hour.

In NSW, provided the CTP green slip price is based accurately on your vehicle and details, the insurer’s price must be the same regardless of how or where you purchase your greenslip. The cover provided by your greenslip, the terms and additional at fault driver cover benefits (if offered) must also be the same regardless of how or where you purchase your greensslip. 

The Green Slip Calculator is operated by the Motor Accident Authority (MAA) at greenslips.nsw.gov.au.

The MAA’s Green Slip Calculator only operates for the most common types of vehicles and does not operate for trucks or when the owner wants to claim an input tax credit for GST. For those vehicles you will need to contact each of the insurers directly to obtain a CTP green slip quote.
