CTP Green Slip Insurer Market Share

Whilst there are seven licensed insurers in NSW, those licenses are held by five insurance groups.

Suncorp owns GIO and AAMI. Allianz also owns CIC Allianz.

Distribution of market share on the basis of insurer group for the quarters ending 30 June 2012 and 2013 is set out in the table below.

Market share is shown on the basis of premiums written by each insurer.

The total premium collected during 2012-2013 was $2.58 billion excluding GST. The insurance premium component (the amount retained by the insurers, excluding levies and GST) was $1.95 billion.
