GREENSLIPS ARE COSTING

Hi, i've been driving for 6 years and i'm 24 years old, i have never had a accident, or ever had a speeding ticket, and because i'm under 25, i have to pay over $600 for a greenslip, why do good drivers have to pay so much, just because i'm under 25 doesn't mean that all drivers under 25 are bad drivers, i find this unfair that the government judge by the age group, yes there are drivers under 25 that are careless but not everyone under 25 is a bad driver, no one is a perfect driver but we shouldn't have to pay so much just for a greenslip cause of our age. If it's not the greenslip costing so much then it ends up being the rego plus stamp duty costing more.

1. The logic behind using age as the definitive factor in determining these costs is totally flawed. Consider the situation where 'the husband' has driven the family everywhere and 'the wife' stayed at home, looked after the house and family. Husband dies and leaves family without transport. Widow has to get licence and take over transport role but she is over 25 whichmeans she doesn't pay the 'inexperienced' penalty. She is inexperienced in driving years but experienced in life, because of her age. Why should she not pay the same amount for CTP as do the similarly inexperienced, but younger' drivers? In this instance, this particular 'rule' is an ass. The person responsible for such an idea should be called to account for their 'logic'. By the way, I'm 56, never had a ticket or an 'at-fault' collision. I don't have to pay these exorbidant fees but I feel the younger 'good' drivers are being unfairly targetted. Just because 'some' are irresponsible, doesn't mean 'all' are.
